HQ AFMC/PK Memo, 18 Dec 01, Transition from Commerce Business Daily (CBD) to Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) - As of 1 Jan 02, agencies will no longer be required to publicize information on government contracts in both CBD and FedBizOpps and instead may rely exclusively on the mandatory notice in FedBizOpps. Emphasis is placed on the fact that FedBizOpps will now be the source to use for calculating publication and response times for notices of proposed contract actions.
The final rule implementing Central Contractor Registration (CCR) in DoD was published in the Federal Register Vol. 63, No. 61 on 31 Mar. 98. You must be registered in CCR or you will not be eligible to receive a contract award from any DoD activity. How does a contractor register?? The easiest way for a vendor to register is through the Internet at the CCR homepage (http://www.ccr.gov). Vendors can also call (888) 227-2423 to obtain the latest on CCR registration information. Guidance on CCR is available on the AF Business Opportunities Page at http://ww3.safaq.hq.af.mil/contracting/.
The Enterprise Sourcing Group Small Business Office, San Antonio Operating Location (ESG/SB SA OL), partners with industry and the acquisition community to execute the Air Force Small Business program while accomplishing the ESG strategic sourcing mission. This office supports the Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE) the Air Force Civil Engineering Support Agency (AFCESA), the Air Force Medical Support Agency (AFMSA), the Air Force Medical Operation Agency (AFMOA), and the Air Force Force Protection Commodity Council (AF FPCC) in carrying out the objectives of the Small Business and Historically Black Colleges and Universities Minority Institutions (HBCUMI) Programs.
Small Business Specialists provide counsel and assistance contracting officials, requirement personnel and members of industry, to enhance the participation of small and minority businesses and HBCUMIs in acquisitions supporting the missions of the above agencies. The Air Force Small Business strategy of Beyond Goals pushes past percentages to ensure the warfighter's access to a comprehensive set of capabilities in support of Air Force priorities. Beyond Goals is tied to measurable outcomes to ensure the innovation, agility and efficiency of America's small businesses are put to work in support of the Air Force mission.
